Description:
24 inch round barrel to the end of the factory installed Lyman Cutts compensator is correctly un-marked for choke. Winchester referred to them as a "spreader". Overall gun is in nice condition with most all barrel blue remaining and a good amount of blue starting to tone on the receiver at the high points. Nicely figured deluxe checkered capped pistolgrip buttstock is in very good condition with most original varnish. Slight wear to the checkering. These Model 40's are very scarce with only about 12,000 made and most were recalled and exchanged for a new Model 12. Especially rare is the deluxe checkered Skeet Models. George Madis stated that only 37 of these Deluxe Skeet Models were ever made with checkered wood. Original scarce little gun.
