Ed, Kettner Cape Gun 28ga & 6.5x27R (256 Win Mag)
Description: Judging by the bright bores and the sharp checkering, this interesting Cape hammer gun has not seen much use. Most unusually, it's chambered in 28ga x 2 1/2" (think Magtech brass shells) and 6.5x27R which is similar to the 25-20, uses the same 257 dia bullet, comes with a new CH4D FL die, use a 25-20 seater; brass can be made from 38 spl or 256 Win Mag; or that barrel could be rechambered to the latter caliber if the pressures were kept moderate. Rebounding hammers, two leaf rear, metal finishes are strong but with light corrosion on the outside of the barrels, case colors were saved by a copious covering of linseed oil, double triggers, toplever. Very tight, as I said, not much use. Would make a fine turkey or squirrel weapon, or to fend off nuisance critters around the ranch. Made in 1913. SOLD |
