A difficult to find combination of caliber and condition in a Pre War Winchester Model 70. Here's an unaltered, undrilled and very collectible PRE WAR Model 70 in the wonderful 22 Hornet caliber.
S/N 30066 with matching scribed bolt made in 1940.
Excellent condition throughout showing 96%+ original finishes with some scattered flecks of corrosion on the barrel bluing and a few scattered marks and impressions on the wood.
24" barrel with a bright bore and distinct rifling. I have personally inspected the chamber of this rifle and can guarantee that it remains a true 22 Hornet, never reamed to K hornet or any other.
All mechanical functions are butter smooth and crisp in the usual pre war fashion.
The rear receiver bridge remains correctly UNDRILLED. There are no non-factory holes on this rifle.
Original sights include a Lyman 31W front and a Winchester 22g sporting rear with correct 4 step elevator.
The barrel channel is flawless with no routing or glass bedding present.
