"Rare Mukden Arsenal Type 13 Manchurian Bolt Action Rifle – 8mm (L2025-11640)
Description: "Serial No. 104398, manufactured circa 1920s, 8mm, 29½" round barrel. This rifle design and tooling were sold to Chinese Warlord Zhang Zuolin, who established production at the Mukden Arsenal in Manchuria between 1924 and 1931. Serial numbers are matching throughout, an uncommon feature for Chinese-issued examples. Barrel retains approximately 90% of its original blue finish, while the receiver and bolt show a smooth light grey patina with sharp arsenal markings. Stock exhibits light handling impressions consistent with service use. Like most surviving examples, the dust cover is missing. Approximately 140,000 rifles were produced, with just over half later captured by Japanese forces following the Mukden Incident of 1931. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A scarce and historically significant Manchurian Type 13 rifle, representing one of the earliest domestically produced military arms in Republican-era China.
