For too many years Marlin lever action rifles have been pretty much ignored by custom gunmakers - until now. We have been working at creating a truly custom treatment of the Marlin lever rifles and the result is a beautiful world-class rifle capable of taking any game on Earth - the GRAND AFRICANTM.

This spectacular Marlin is the Prototype Rifle that is the model of more to follow. While we prefer to begin with a Marlin Model 1895, we are able to use the 336. Our prototype started life as a plain jane Glenfield .30-30, but by re-enginnering the receiver and action, it has been transformed into a Magnum Class rifle that is chambered for the powerful .50 Alaskan cartridge.

Contrary to erroneous internet opinions, there is no dimensional difference between the Marlin 336 and the Marlin 1895 receivers. Both are equally strong and can easily handle the .50 Alaskan, but the 336 can be a more ecconomical way to get started building your Grand African because so many old 336s are sitting forgotten in the back of the gunsafe. They are the perfect basis for transformation into a Grand African.

The .50 Alaskan, while unknown to many, is available as loaded ammunition with the power to take on most any game on Earth. Brass is made by Starline and loading dies and bullets are available from several makers and souirces.

The GRAND AFRICANTM is refitted with a handy 22-inch barrel and wears high grade walnut stocks and high profile Safari-type Express sights for getting on target accurately and quickly.
