Hexagonal blued steel barrel is signed \'Holland and Holland 98 New Bond St London\' and \'Winners of all the Field Rifle Trials 295 Semi Smooth Bore\'. A previous custodian saw the practicality of having it updated to modern .22LR. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Traces of color remaining on the action which is engraved with scroll and the makers name in a banner on each side.

The muzzle has been threaded for a moderator and capped. Rear leaf sights graduated for 50, 100 and 150 yards. Drilled and tapped for a scope base.
