The Ruger Blackhawk was introduced in 1955 as a modern, stronger, and more affordable alternative to the Colt Single Action Army revolver, which was discontinued in the early 1940's. It has since become one of the most popular single action guns on the market. This 2005 production model is a 50th Anniversary Edition. It has "50TH YEAR RUGER BLACKHAWK 1955 TO 2005" engraved and gold color-filled on top of the barrel. The gun shows some light holster wear but otherwise the finish is in really good shape. The action is smooth, the cylinder locks up tight, and the bore is bright. There is no box or case included. .44 Magnum
