LETTERED Antique PEACEMAKER Black Powder Frame SINGLE ACTION ARMY Revolver
KANSAS CITY Shipped “COLT .45” Manufactured in 1892
Description: LETTERED Antique PEACEMAKER Black Powder Frame SINGLE ACTION ARMY Revolver KANSAS CITY Shipped “COLT .45” Manufactured in 1892 Here we present an antique Colt Factory Lettered Black Powder Frame Single Action Army Revolver, manufactured in 1892 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt “Peacemaker” was introduced in 1873 and has become one of the most iconic firearms in all of history, thanks to its widespread use by the U.S. military, civilians and, more recently, in Western films. It's no surprise to see a batch of these revolvers shipped into Missouri during such prosperous time. In 1892, Kansas City, Missouri, was absolutely booming. The city was growing faster than anticipated, thanks to big infrastructure projects and a strong economy centered around the availability of mass transportation. Cattle, railroads, and manufacturing were all thriving industries. The stockyards and meatpacking plants put Kansas City on the map as a major Midwest hub one-stop shop. The city was also building up landmarks like it’s new Courthouse and City Hall being completed in 1892. Kansas City was also a pioneer in innovation, introducing the first overhead electric trolleys in 1885. We also can’t forget the impact of Kansas City Daily Journal, a popular Republican newspaper, claiming to have the largest morning circulation in the city and sharing the latest news. The factory letter states that the revolver was shipped to J.F. Schmelzer & Sons Arms Co. of Kansas City, Missouri, on August 17, 1892, with a 4 3/4 inch barrel chambered in .45 caliber and a blue finish. The type of stocks not listed. This was part of a 10 gun shipment. The overall condition is very good. This example is refinished in blue with a brown patinaed cylinder. Excellent action. The bore has dimmed and maintains strong rifling. Fine, plastic replacement grips. Numbers match. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4-3/4 inches. Caliber: .45 Long Colt Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $4650 #250002 Antique: Yes Price: $4,650.00 Buy Now Pay with
