Batty & Sons Company included the Batty brothers and their father started in Springfield Massachusetts, lasting 15 years and producing these flasks for the military from 1847-1858
The design was based on the design of the rival Ames Manufacturing at the time
Design has American eagle perched on arrows and an olive branch above an oval of stars that surround a pair of clasped hands within the sunburst, below is a US on a shield which overlays a trophy of arms, helmet, and banners
Batty and 1856 marked on the flat top
9 7/8" length with 4" width
